1x Château Hauts de Granget Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2018
Red — Merlot Blend
Bordeaux — France
We’re getting pretty good at finding exceptional Bordeaux at unbelievable pricing. Humble, I know. But sometimes it’s good to give yourself a little pat on the back. We think we earned it with this one. It’s Saint-Emilion Grand Cru composed of 85% merlot and 15% cab franc that’s hitting all the right notes. And we’re not the only ones that feel that way. A score of 4.2 on Vivino and 96 points with a gold medal from the Decanter World Wine Awards seem to back up our assessment. The Decanter review below goes into a bit more detail for those remaining unconvinced.

1x Reschke RSR Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
This wine will be a special treat for the mofos who get their hands on a case, of which there aren’t many available. It’s a cellar release that has 10 years of ageing, developing and improving in its future. It’s a cuvèe that is usually exclusive to the producer’s database, but somehow our charming wine buyers have managed to get some for the site.
Each glass of this cabernet is sure to be excellent and intriguing. The once boisterous tannins have now mellowed on the silky palate, and fruit is joined by herbaceous and somewhat meaty notes. There’s still classic cabernet cassis and blackberry, which is accompanied by rosemary, thyme and a long and savoury finish.
You’d pay $85 full price.

1x Archery Road Bullseye Shiraz 2015
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
Here is one show-stopping, chart-topping shiraz that’s ready and roaring. While this is drinking perfectly now, do be warned - it’s quite the blockbuster! Handcrafted from the finest grapes of their Barossa vineyard, this does what we look for the most in these wines; rich, full-bodied and full of aromatic lift. Moroccan spices and dense black fruits such as blackberries and black cherry. All of course handled beautifully with high quality oak and supporting fine tannins. A blockbuster with a really great plot.
You’d pay $150 full price.

1x Captain D. Bruce Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Rarely do you open wine when it’s in the perfect drinking window, but alas, we have one for you. With almost a decade in the bottle, its tannins have softened to perfection. Robust and vibrant dark berries are still at the core, but the layers are opening up, offering roasted notes, cigar box, olive tapenade and mineral warmth. Cabernet sauvignon with perfectly aged, fine tannins is genuinely such a pleasure; it makes you wonder why we don’t always wait (nearly) ten years.
You’d pay $105 full price.

1x Curtis Limited Series Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Mega wine. Everything about this feels deep and brooding and mysterious. There is a salubriousness to the way it glides across the palate. Juicy plum and blackberry envelop the mouth. The freshness and density of fruit opens up a little revealing some nuance and play - little flecks of green nettle, some confected chocolate dust, a bit of liquorice and milk dud. Velvety dark black forest cake and ganache. A wonderful wine to let reveal itself in your glass (or in your decanter if you’re extra fancy). It will become more complex and interesting with each sip. Pair it with bold flavoured food, sure, but it certainly doesn’t require it. This icon will stand and deliver on its own no problem.
You’d pay $120 full price.

1x Powell & Son Riverside GSM 2021
Red — GSM
Barossa Valley — Australia
A regional icon of an iconic region. It’s bright and juicy, with elegant tannin and layered complexity. The palate’s exploding with blackcurrant and raspberry compote, sweet red cherries and licorice. The generous splash of mataro adds a delightful medicinal undertone to this one - wine tonic for all your ailments. It’s plush enough for the winter, and will take a quick chill in the fridge over the heat of summer. No matter when, where, or who you share this with, it’s guaranteed not to disappoint.
You’d pay $60 full price.
