Why do we love this case?
They say variety is the spice of life, well, with that in mind, and since we're all about delivering amazing wines at fantastic prices, we thought we'd go through our stock and pick out our favourite reds that punch above well their weight. There's a bit of everything in here, but the wines all have one thing in common, exceptional quality that won't break the bank.
1x Hewitson Rowland Flat Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
Rated a 9/10 vintage from the Halliday Wine Companion, 2021 in Barossa provided perfect conditions for high quality and yields. Gee, this producer has been popular with our mofo members by providing solid, true-to-style wines time and again. This is a bold shiraz. Deep, dark and rich. A partial whole bunch fermentation contributes to herbaceous aromatics alongside deep, fleshy blood plums. A good 14 months maturation in oak barrels frames the fruit over the palate with notes of chocolate and an exotic tobacco finish will linger. It’s a smart wine, ready to enjoy now and in ten years given the right cellaring.

1x Austins Wines 6ft6 Pinot Noir 2023
Red — Pinot Noir
Geelong — Australia
Fresh and inviting, this will give a lot with just a little swirl in the glass. Raspberry coulis, winter strawberry, some sweet spice, fennel, thistle. The complexity far outpaces its price tag. The wine is structured without sacrificing finesse, which means it's pretty without being thin or wussy.

1x Pirramimma Heritage Limited Edition Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
If you don’t know by now, we think it’s time for you to loop yourself in. This Limited Edition shiraz comes from the best rows of their famous “War Horse” and “Ironstone” blocks. The vines are old and what they lack in quantity (yield), they make up for in superb quality. Full bodied, but balanced with pepper and spice, there are just so many layers to discover in this wine. Laden with luscious, ripe blackberries, earthy blackcurrants, mocha, hints of cedar and a dollop of liquorice, you’re in for a treat with this divine, velvety red.

1x Pertaringa 'Belonging to the Hills' Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
The Pertaringa name is no stranger to the Aussie household. The iconic Hardy family are to wine what vegemite is to toast: a perfect match. So, to land this beauty from the hands of Bec Hardy is monumental for us, and we couldn't be more pleased. This is McLaren Shiraz through and through, with densely packed dark chocolate and fresh roasted coffee exploding on the nose. The palate follows through just as true, layered with preserved plums, dark forest berries and a lick of vanillin softness. There's one word for this wine, and it's awesome.

1x Jim Brand Wines The Pursuit Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
When we have this producer at the tasting bench, you can be sure there's a few of us salivating over the wines. This cabernet is always an absolute standout, and we all nod in agreement that this has to be one of the best value cabernets we've ever sold. Ever. An extroverted red which refuses to back down, this wine is fragrant with dark forest fruits seducing the nose, while traces of mint and cedar oak add a twist of regional character. A torrent of ripe plum, dark berry and blackcurrant make their presence known on the palate - clearly dominating but steering clear of overwhelming the tastebuds. The finish is superb with great length and a dry finale. An outstanding example of how to balance power with restraint, and succeed - this magnificent cab shows others how it’s done.
You’d pay $65 full price.

1x Domaine de Ferrand Mistral Côtes du Rhône Mistral 2022
Red — Grenache Blend
Côtes du Rhône — France
A real 'for those in the know' kind of wine, the Mistral is one outrageously good value bottle of wine. From the legendary hands of Domaine de Ferrand, this grenache dominant blend (80%) is consistently used as a benchmark around the Mofo office for what great CDR (Côtes du Rhône) can and should represent. Only cement and stainless steel are used for ageing, allowing the purity and complexity of the fruit to shine through. The resulting wine is so very vibrant, satisfyingly spicy and showcases a spectrum of blackberry and raspberry flavours. Dive in, this is completely delicious.
You’d pay $72 full price.
