Why do we love this case?
That’s not to say they’re short on quality or complexity – far from it! But to sit there alone while pondering these would be missing the point. They’re built for fun, for fabulous feeds with friends, for big belly-laughs in the best of company. And wherever these wines are, fun times are never far. Cheers to that, mofo!
1x Brokenwood Soil Selection Chardonnay 2022
White — Chardonnay
Hunter Valley — Australia
Trust us. When you collect your wine, and you open the box and pull this little number out, your eyes will light up and a wry smile will take over. This producer has been at the top of their game for so long now, and for good reason. Hunter chardonnay has such character and individuality which just adds to the utter versatility that is Aussie chardy. In its youth, enjoy crisp citrus and fleshy melon notes perfect for a warm arvo but in years to come, a developed nuttiness will reveal itself and a richness over the palate. Drink now or drink later? The choice is yours…
You’d pay $70 full price.

1x Reschke Bull Trader Sauvignon Blanc 2021
White — Sauvignon Blanc
Coonawarra — Australia
Coonawarra sauv blanc? Is that a thing? Turns out it is and it should be. Coonawarra is technically a cool climate region, allowing for slower ripening and development of flavour. That’s pretty damn perfect for sauv blanc. This is super fragrant with lemon, lime and white peach. There’s passionfruit and nectarine on the palate with a bit of texture and crisp acidity to finish. It’s savvy bee through and through, just from an unexpected place. And if you still aren’t convinced, perhaps that 96 point score from Winestate will seal the deal.
You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Kilikanoon Golden Hillside Riesling 2021
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
Another year and another glorious vintage of one or our absolute favourites. We are still wondering if this “Golden Hillside” is an actual place, or a mythical place of the gods. The riesling from the Hillside is nothing short of heavenly, and the price suggests some sort of divine intervention. Plus, however high the vineyards of Clare Valley can get, surely those planted on celestial slopes are more so. How else would you get such an otherworldly balance of drool-worthy lime and sunshine-soaked lemons, refreshing minerality and cloudlike complexity? The bottle definitely says Clare Valley though.
You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Middle Earth Wines Pinot Gris 2021
White — Pinot Gris
Nelson — New Zealand
Fresh off the port of New Zealand, Middle Earth is one of our favourite wineries from the south island. We only ever get a limited amount because they don’t make much wine - it’s pretty exclusive. Refreshingly crisp and brimming with sweet luscious honey character, lemon, dragonfruit and quince, this is mouth-filling and textured, piercing the palate with firm acidity and minerality. This is perfect for the humid weather served super chilled; it just slips and slides. Destined to be consumed with your favourite hawker dishes, this wine will happily take the heat off your chilli crab or balance alongside the tamarind sweetness of rojak.
You’d pay $45 full price.
