We're talking about what’s happening behind the scenes at the 'Fo and the things we're getting excited about.

New product drops, what we're vibing, what we're out there buying, early access to big sales and exciting events - and some other interesting bits we think you won't want to miss. The things you’ll want to know about and get in on early.

Exclusive allocations

Okay so first up - we're creating a super exclusive waitlist with first access to our allocation of limited wines as soon as they land.

We are talking tiny allocation, hard-to-get, wine-nerd wines.

We can’t send them out to everyone because we know they’ll last literally seconds, so its going to be how we make sure those who want them have the best chance of getting access, without the frustration of finding them immediately sold out.

We’ll only ever communicate when one of these wines lands and so it might be once a month or less - but when we do, it’ll be worth it.

You can sign up here.

The first drop

As a preview, the first wine that will be featured is one of the most sought after, highest pointed Beaujolais to land in Australia ever. It's so exclusive, we're the only ones that get an allocation in the country.

Reason being that we backed Domaine Anita early - we were the first to bring their wines into the country in 2019, and every year since.

They're now getting the type of recognition we knew they would (the highest Beaujolais rating of the year with 100 points from James Suckling, no less) and they are on allocation worldwide with soaring demand and super-limited production.

If you're on the allocation waitlist, you’ll get first access before they're put on general site release.

The Domaine Anita wines have landed and so we expect the first drop to go in the next few days. So if you want in, now is the time.

Premium imports in stock

Champagne. Burgundy. Bordeaux. Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Barolo.

We can't name names, but some of the greatest winemakers in Australia have been getting in quick to stock up on our latest imports. They know gems when they see them, at a value that can't be beaten.

We're talking wines like a 95pt rated grower Champagne from Nicolas Maillart with 48% off RRP; 94pt Decanter-rated 1er Cru Burgundy from Maison Chanzy at $69.90 a bottle; 99pt scoring Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Domaine Saint Préfert, at over 50% off RRP; platinum-winning 2013 Barolo from Massimo Rattalino at 42% off RRP. Decanter called this "a masterpiece" and we very much agree.

Unbelievable value, at very limited supply - so don't wait around on these.

What we’re loving

Another wine that’s really keeping our corkscrews busy and glasses full is the Vincent Wengier Aligoté 2021.

It's the “other” white burgundy getting plaudits from all corners of the mofo office (“amazing value”) so don’t sleep on this hidden gem either. It’s aligoté in all its complex glory, and we can’t stop singing its praises.

And at our office tasting bar we've also been vibing the excellent Châteauneuf du Pape from Chateau de Vaudieu (“pure class”), the Kilikanoon Ridgeline Grenache (“excellent value and just delicious”) and the Marco Mazzeretti Brunello di Montalcino ‘18 (“unbelievably good wine”).

And if you’re a lover of aged wines, rejoice! We’ve got some crackers up from the cellar and on site at the moment with more to follow.

EOFY is here!

You might have already seen some exciting things happening on site for EOFY, and there's more to come too.

We’re throwing our biggest ever sales event this month with massive price drops, plus mofo faves you know and can’t get enough of.

Buyers getting busy

And looking ahead, our buying team have just returned from their intrepid expeditions to Margaret River and Tasmania to uncover your next favourite producers and uncork their wines.

We’re hearing big things about the Margaret River ‘23 vintage (“stellar” according to our buyer Pete), but what we love is that it’s tried and true every year.

You can also check out Pete's ideal Margaret River itinerary - here's his perfect 24 hours in Margaret River.

And look out for more of those Tassie wines dropping too - that reputation for producing premium drops is seriously well deserved.

MOULD: Sold out and stinky!

MOULD: A Cheese Festival also visited Melbourne at the start of this month, another sold-out event to cap the epic turnout we saw in Brisbane in May.

The team are back bringing the best of all that’s soft, semi, hard and stinky next week in Sydney June 30 - July 1, and then a huge double-header with Pinot Palooza landing in Perth August 25 - 27.

Tickets available here.

Ageing like a...

A need-to-know thing

At Mofo HQ, we get a lot of questions when it comes to our Black Market deals - after all, they aren’t the kind of deals you see everyday. So for those who want to be in-the-know, here’s the need-to-know.

Winter wine-derland

It's the season that's the perfect reason to get to know your wines a little more, and adventure to new horizons too. Here’s a few more gems that we’re getting excited about at the moment, great to pair with days when the air is a little crisp.

So you've made it to the end eh? Don't worry - there's plenty more of what we're enjoying to dive into on our Vinofiles, if you're thirsty for more.
